		<abstract>Estimation of the radiation balance in the soil-vegetation system is recognized as important to characterize native or anthropogenic landscapes, helping in the adequate management of the environment. Making this measurement by satellite data, from the electromagnetic radiation reflected by the targets on the surface, makes this operation more efficient in a series of applications, as in large agricultural areas. The objective of this work was to estimate the radiation balance in pasture areas in the Rio Vermelho watershed, state of Goiás, using satellite data. Five images of the Landsat 8 Oli/Tirs, orbit/point 223/71, from the year 2014 were used. The estimation of the radiation balance was obtained through the METRIC algorithm (Mapping Evapotranspiration with Internalized Calibration). To obtain this parameter, we also used data from the meteorological station located in the same Landsat scene (A014). Among the results, mean values were obtained for the radiation balance in cultivated pasture areas (instantaneous values) of 601.51 W/m², 469.94 W/m², 391.95 W/m², 409.49 W/m², 443.14 W/m² for January 3 (DJ003), May 11 (DJ131), June 28 (DJ 179), July 30 (DJ 211) and September 16 (DJ259), respectively. The technique used was adequate for the analysis of the studied components, comproving METRIC as an efficient tool for the management of land cover and water resource.</abstract>
